About Us

Going to Mont-Royal is always a treat. The lively neighbourhood is filled with unique grocery shops, clothing stores and restaurants,  making it a great area to spend your Sunday.   One restaurant we like to head to is DANS LA BOUCHE, especially for people's birthday.
Restaurant Front
Dans La Bouche is in the heart of the plateau, making it easily accessible for everyone. The restaurant has a funky vibe, with an assortment of interesting textures that cover the walls and floors. At first glance, you assume you are in the one and only dining room. Soon enough, you realize the bar area "next door" is connected to the restaurant; it has copious amounts of seating but mimics  a mirror effect in some way.  As a whole, they have a total of three seating rooms, with additional tables outside for those who want a little bit of a terrace action. Their terrace isn't anything spectacular though. In fact, sitting inside is recommended- the atmosphere is better and the large open windows give a beautiful breeze; you will not feel like you are missing out on patio dining.

We were a total of four people that morning.  Due to the amount of space, we did not have to wait for a table, which is a plus! They do take reservations, however.

One thing about Dans La Bouche is that they have everything you would want for a breakfast dish. The menu can seem overwhelming at first, but it's fairly easy to get through it.   While they have traditional breakfast plates (eggs, meat and potatoes), they have a lot of unique combination plates; bottomless coffee is included in all of their dishes.  They have a great variety of crepes, omelettes, waffles, but their eggs benedict list has the most interesting options.  They also have a decent selection of healthier and vegetarian dishes. You cannot help but notice the prices, though.  All  of these dishes run between $12.99 - $ 15.99, which is a little bit pricey. However, once you receive your dishes, you begin to understand their price tag - the plates are HUGE!

Since G was still recovering from wisdom teeth surgery, she had to order yet another "soft"plate- she chose "Mont Everest , which included 1 crepe, 1 french toast and 1 half-waffle, topped with a load of fresh fruit. M stayed a little bit traditional that morning and chose the "Perfect Gentleman"- two eggs, ham, 1 crepe, 1 french toast, potatoes and fresh fruit.  Our friends decided on the "Blue Butterfly", which included eggs and blueberry crepes.  Everything was delicious.

The service was okay. It took a while for us to get our coffee and the waitress did not come to our table often. We felt as though there was always something missing from our table, which can be SO annoying.

As a whole, Dans La Bouche is one brunch spot that we go to often. Even though the service marks for improvement, their dishes will make you keep coming back for more.
